Certifications and Approvals

Offal Exp S.A. produces beef offal at a SENASA-inspected establishment in Burzaco, Buenos Aires, and operates under HACCP food safety management, ISO 9001 quality management and Halal certification. This page sets out what each of those means for a buyer assessing us as a supplier.

SENASA — Establishment No. 4407

SENASA is the Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria, Argentina’s national food safety and animal health authority. Every plant that slaughters or processes animal product for sale in Argentina, and every plant approved to export, holds a SENASA establishment number.

Our cutting plant and coldstore at Dr. Luis María Drago 2760, Parque Industrial Burzaco, Buenos Aires, operates under SENASA inspection as Establishment No. 4407. That number appears on our documentation and is the reference an importing authority or a buyer’s technical team will ask for when they verify us.

SENASA registration is what makes export possible at all. Importing countries do not approve individual companies; they approve national inspection systems and then the establishments within them. An Argentine plant without a SENASA number cannot ship.

HACCP

HACCP — Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points — is the internationally recognised framework for managing food safety by identifying where in a process a hazard could arise and controlling it at that point, rather than relying on end-product testing to catch problems afterwards.

In an offal plant the critical points are concentrated around temperature and cross-contamination: how quickly material is chilled after slaughter, how the cold chain is held through processing and freezing, and how raw and further-processed material are kept separate. Offal Exp operates under HACCP.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems. Where HACCP governs food safety specifically, ISO 9001 governs how the business runs: documented procedures, traceability, records, corrective action, and periodic review.

For a buyer the practical value is consistency and traceability. It means the way a batch was produced is documented and can be reconstructed, which matters when a customer needs to trace a delivery back through production.

Halal

Offal Exp produces Halal-certified beef offal. Halal certification covers slaughter method and supervision as well as the separation of certified and non-certified product through processing and storage.

Halal requirements are not uniform. Different certifying bodies and different importing markets apply different standards, and a certificate accepted in one market is not automatically accepted in another. If your market requires Halal product, tell us which certifying body or which destination authority you need to satisfy at the enquiry stage, so we can confirm what we can supply against that specific requirement.

The plant

Our Burzaco facility has been developed on a 60,000 m² property for the processing of beef offal, with technology in packaging, palletising, freezing and warehousing. Production lines run to 400 tonnes per day, and warehouse capacity is 10,000 tonnes. We distribute more than 400 tonnes per month within the Argentine market and export more than 7,000 tonnes per month.

More about the company and its history is on the company page.

Requesting certificates and documentation

Copies of current certificates, product specification sheets and the health certification required for your destination market are issued with quotations and shipping documentation. Because certificate scope and validity change, we supply current documents on request rather than publishing copies here.

To request documentation, write to info@offalexp.com or call +54 9 11 5565 7810, telling us the product and the destination market. Full contact details are on the contact page.
